Tools: Articulate Storyline and Canva

Purpose: To develop an eLearning course using the designed storyboard. To become a citizen of the U.S., you must pass the USCIS interview and exam. This eLearning provides local citizenship candidates with an interactive way to recall the required American civics and history questions and answers to prepare for the USCIS interview and exam.

Each of the 16 landmarks or modules is structured with activities, voiceover, and formative assessments. Candidates can also download and print PDFs from the USCIS website to be used as a "tour guide" and for additional writing/reading practice. After completion, the candidate is expected to complete the 100-question summative assessment with at least 80%. Candidates may repeat each landmark and the summative 100-question assessment as needed.  

Result: The stakeholders were very pleased with this eLearning! It will be used first as a 1:1 and then the instructor will integrate the eLearning into the instructor-led classes. Candidates will be able to access this link as well for their individual recall and study for the USCIS interview and exam.

What I Learned: This was a massive undertaking while I was working full-time! I also learned that Articulate Storyline has issues with files corrupting. My project crashed, and I had to restart with the pieces and rebuild. In the end, I built it better anyway! Lots of lessons were learned!
